Stay Social is Bendigo’s latest accommodation venture with a difference. We are thrilled to commission Pop Up Art to source art by Central Victorian artists, throughout its new seven room accommodation facility in Bendigo.
Stay Social provides home-style short and long-term accommodation for travellers and business people alike. It’s innovative accommodation in Bendigo that delivers hospitality, comfort and the stay social difference, the opportunity to connect with others. Stay Social’s official launch is in April 2015.
Social Entrepreneurs, and owners of Stay Social Karen and Chris Corr say, “We are excited to commission Pop Up Art to support local artists. Stay Social is more than accommodation. It connects visitors to Bendigo to the innovation and creativity in the region. There is no better way to do this than with the art work created by the numerous artists who practice within our community of central Victoria”
Pop Up Art is an arts social enterprise supporting regional artists to sell more work. It aims to represent more than 200 artists in central Victoria, and in turn expand the economic productivity of this sector of this region. Sharon Seyd of Pop Up Art says their key message is “You have to be seen to be sold.” Pop Up Art have recently delivered online profile training for Central Victorian Artists and have a major show presenting over 60 central Victorian Artists in the 2015 Castlemaine State Festival.
Starting Tuesday 10 March 2015, Pop Up Art will travel through the four partnering Shires of Mount Alexander, Macedon, Hepburn and Bendigo to buy art for Stay Social’s living gallery.
