Stay Social was brought into being by two key players of Bendigo’s remarkable social entrepreneurial scene, Chris and Karen Corr.
Pictured here with their two boys Aidan and Jeremy, while on a caravan holiday around Australia. This year Karen has been researching changemaking projects around Australia for her book Being a Changemaker.
Their vision for Stay Social was to create accommodation that is a little bit more social than a motel room. Being socially-minded and environmentally-conscious people Karen and Chris crafted Stay Social into a space for ideas and connections to be created.
When at home in Bendigo you will find both Chris and Karen active in their community. Chris is a civil engineer and project manager for EcoSuccess Project Management consulting services. Chris is an amazing contributor to many local community organisations including the Golden Square CFA; the Bendigo Community Farmer’s Market and the Bendigo Sustainability Group.
Karen is the founder of Make a Change Australia, a not for profit community development and engagement organisation that supports changemakers in their quest to make a difference. Karen was the Melbourne Social Entrepreneur of the Year in 2012 and a finalist in the Victorian Rural Women’s Awards in 2014.
